Emilee first greeted me while covered in glitter, carrying a tiny, precious kitten—equally as bedazzled—in an upside down helmet. I already knew we'd be fast friends! A quick clean-up effort made Emilee (mostly) glitter-free, but her eyes still sparkled as she took the lead of her newest partner, Recall.
Recall (as in recalled from the track—hah!) is Emilee's step-up mount as she follows in her mother's footsteps as a talented and dedicated barrel racer.
Both Jessica and her husband, Heath, are equine entrepreneurs—watch for a future blog about their businesses coming soon!—so Emilee has plenty of horsemanship role models to look up to.
Rain clouds earlier in the day made this session's plans a little iffy, and it even "rain shined" while Jessica performed some bodywork on her sweet chestnut, Slew. But it seemed that the Indiana sky knew Emilee and Recall were something special...because we had nothing but golden sun through the whole portrait session!
Of course, we had to capture the mother-daughter duo together too (and how stunning is Jessica's dress?!?) and we also snagged a few poses of the equine power couple in the final rays of the sunset.
Jessica, Emilee & Heath—I had so much fun spending the afternoon with you! I can't thank you enough for believing in me and my work, as well as helping to organize my trip to Northeast Indiana! Please take lots and lots of videos of Emilee's runs with Recall, because I'll be rooting for her all the way in Texas! Hugs, Rachel
